A few days ago, I was contacted by a client in a panic, saying that she had some stains on her carpet, and quite few scuff marks on her walls that she did not have time to remove. She required a vacate clean and was in Mt. Clear. A few days later, I arrived at the job site for the Mt Clear Vacate Clean. The client Claire greeted me and showed me the unit.
Upon further inspection at the site, there were vomit stains on the carpet and quite a lot of different scuff marks. I assured her that I would get the stains out and all the scuff marks.
Generally there are about six steps in the KnuWhizz Vacate Cleaning Process. All of these processes involve cleaning agents, microfiber cloths or scrubbing brush.
Areas cleaned are cupboards, oven inside and out, stove top, robin hood, sinks, basins and pantry cupboards. Cleaning agents used are jiff, sugar soap, oven cleaner and disinfectant.
An easy idea is to work top to bottom so that any loose soil will fall out onto the floor and can be swept up later. The kitchen in this job was not too bad apart from the oven, which required extra time. A wire brush or wire wool is best for ovens as well as a “non-toxic” oven cleaner.
Bathroom and Toilets / Laundry
Like the kitchen, these areas will need just as much attention as the kitchen area, depending on their condition. Cleaning agents used are jiff, sugar soap, ammonia and disinfectant.
For glass cleaning use detergent and a non-scratch metal wool will help remove the grease. Carefully squeegee the glass with a weak solution of ammonia in water.
For any tiled areas a special tile cleaner can be used or jiff. I used jiff in this instance and finished off with a wipe off with sugar soap. Sugar soap will remove any loose residue and leave the surface with a slight sheen.
Wall cleaning will involve cleaning all base boards with sugar soap or jiff. Most scuff marks, as in this job, were in mid to low places on the walls and came off with jiff. For harder marks it is best to use a product called “magic eraser” or similar. This is what I chose for this job and it worked perfectly. I was able to remove all the scuff marks off all the walls. Upon the inspection from the client she said “oh the walls look great you got all the marks off!”
Internal windows can be cleaned with a weak solution of ammonia in water and a squeegee. Also you can pick up special “glass microfiber” clothes which are designed to remove dust and dirt from windows.
Carpets are cleaned to the KnuWhizz Cleaning Standards and the two major stains were removed. Most carpets these days are nylon and some contain a blend of wool.
A final walk thru was performed and the floors were mopped and cleaned. The client walked through and was “very satisfied” with KnuWhizz cleaning efforts. Another Mt Clear vacate clean complete.
