This article focuses on some rug cleaning tips and tricks. Most of us have rugs in our house. We all know how difficult it can be to clean them, especially with pet hair and stains. These few easy steps below will help maintain your rugs longevity.
Tips and Tricks
1. Regular Vacuuming- It can be hard to vacuum every day, but we recommend at least twice or more per week if you have pets. Vacuuming prevents pet dander and soils building up on the rug and helps maintain its shine. A dust and allergen-free rug are the best goals.
2. Quick Stain Removal- When someone spills liquid on your rug make sure you quick to blot it up. The long you wait to clean up a liquid spill, the longer the liquid has to soak into your rug and stain it. Be sure to blot with a paper towel
3. Remove Pet Stains- For pet stains remove the stain as soon as possible and wipe with a damp cloth. If a smell persists, then treat with a sprinkle of baking soda. Allow to sit a few minutes then vacuum up.
4. Regular Steam Cleaning- Regular steam cleaning of rugs and carpet should occur at least once every six months. Most rugs will be in high traffic lanes and will accumulate soil and dirt much quicker than other areas in the house.
Darker rugs will hold stains better whereas cream coloured rugs will show stains and soil very easily. The choice of color can affect your room and help bring out furniture and surrounding colors. Do not also forget that it can bring out and show stains.

View CommentOne of the best methods to remove hair from carpet or tiles is to put on a glove wet the surface of it and run your hand over the areas with hair. The water will attract the hair and it will stick to the glove.
