Hard surfaces can be a pain to clean. Thankfully KnuWhizz has the right equipment and tips for you that can make life easier for Tile and Grout Cleaning in Ballarat. A hard deck scrubbing brush or small grout brush are the two best tools for grout cleaning.
Care must be taken not to scrub too hard, or you may remove some of the grout. Unsealed grout will accumulate dirt much quicker over time and should be part of your regular maintenance cleaning schedule.
We recommend cleaning both the tile and grout at least every few
months, especially for heavy traffic areas like hallways, bathrooms and entrance foyers.
Grout Cleaning Ballarat
First Create a cleaning solution. Either using commercial floor cleaning solution or you can choose to create your own – 7 cups warm water – 1/2 cup baking soda – 1/3 cup ammonia – 1/4 cup white vinegar.
Using a small spray bottle pour this solution into it and begin spraying the grout.
Allow at least 5 to ten minutes dwell time so that the solution can sink into the grout.
Using the deck scrubbing brush or grout brush, scrub the grout and tiles.
Using a damp cloth or towel wipe up the dirty liquid and follow up with a water-based mopping of the entire area. If there are any wet areas, be sure to re-mop or wipe down. Do not leave any tiled areas wet, as this could cause someone to slip.
Grout Sealing Ballarat
Once a year it can be a good idea to reseal your grout. Buying a good quality grout sealer will help prevent liquids sinking into the grout and help keep the grout cleaner for longer. If the grout is beginning to develop holes or looks crackly, then it is time to reseal and re-grout. This process will help prevent mold and mildew from taking hold.
With regular cleaning and maintenance over time, your grout can look like new. Adding dye to the grout mixture will also help restore and add freshness to your tiles.

Thanks for sharing this advice on cleaning tile and grout in your home! I noticed last night that the bathroom has some pretty nasty grout in the shower, so I want to get it cleaned as soon as possible. Hopefully this guide will help me out, but if it doesn’t then I’ll be looking for a professional. I don’t have time to try a bunch of different methods.
